Toraja Coffee

toraja coffee

One more coffee archipelago perched in the kitchen. This time I tried coffee Toraja, Sulawesi coffee. Coffee is among the most easily obtained compared with other types of coffee. Because I often see the packaging of coffee is sold in supermarkets. When shopping, I was interested to try this specialty coffee of South Sulawesi.

Toraja coffee is coffee that has a low acid content and has a heavy body. Coffee is also known for preserving coffee kalossi, taken from the Dutch colonial name for one of the areas in Sulawesi. Coffee is included in the types of arabica coffee. Toraja coffee profile similar to Sumatran coffee. Usually people find this coffee because of body weight and a slightly acidic taste. Some people say, coffee, Sulawesi and Sumatra coffee has a distinctive taste similar, such as taste and forest land (hard to imagine how it feels). Pain arises because the affected processing after the beans are picked.

Fragrant aroma of coffee wafted directly when opening the packaging, though not too strong. Bitter taste different from the coffee cups of java or a previous Lintong I have ever tried. And it is true there is a sense of such land in this coffee (do not konotasikan this with the negatives, think of this land become more value Toraja coffee.) Some types of coffee leaves a bitter taste in the mouth long enough, but not with this Toraja coffee. Sense of bitterness disappear. And the other thing that I like the slightly sour taste of this coffee.

Describe the coffee is not easy, much easier to enjoy it. Curious? You should try to direct this Toraja coffee.

At the beginning of the 20th century coffee plantations in Indonesia infestations, which nearly destroyed the entire crop of coffee. At that time the coffee is also grown in Timor and Flores. Both the island at that time under the Portuguese rule. Types of coffee grown there also is Arabica coffee. This coffee is not attacked by pests.

Robusta coffee is usually grown in low areas, while arabica coffee grown in the highlands.
